The Marlo Restaurant
The Marlo hotel needed fine dining experience. I chose the existing round building to create an atmosphere of shelter and intimacy. This was a space people could come enjoy even if they weren’t staying at the hotel, but a show piece for the hotel. The unique curved walls created an interesting challenge for art. And the vaulted ceiling echoed sound. The ceiling application of an thin weightless paper plastic origami that created a stunning feature highlighted by soft lighting. This product is fastened to the ceiling and hangs and flows which makes it easy for cleaning. Also, the schools of fish on the wall are custom foam art that also provide acoustics.
